MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Marquette Maritime Museum is open ahead of summer, and now’s a good time to book its historic lighthouse tours before business heats up in June.

The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, hosting three guided tours a day at Marquette Harbor Lighthouse.

Tours begin at 11:30 a.m. ET and in groups of 16 people or less.

Masks can be taken off outside but are still required indoors.

Museum Director Hilary Billman expressed excitement about hosting the programs they were unable to do last summer.

“We’ve got some children’s art history workshops coming up and some paranormal lighthouse tours. The museum is a great community resource. If you want to know about the history of Marquette, how it all started with the shipping on Lake Superior, it’s a great place to come. Bring your family when they’re in town,” Billman said.

The director added that it is best to call ahead to reserve a lighthouse tour: 906-226-2006
