LAURIUM, Mich. (WLUC) - The Copper Country community is coming together to help victims of Friday night’s fire in downtown Calumet.
The grand opening of the roller rink at the Gipp Arena in Laurium is Saturday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Organizers say all proceeds from the event will benefit those affected by the devastating fire that rocked our sister community, Calumet.
“This is a great opportunity for anyone wondering how they can help to do so. If skating isn’t for you, donations will also be accepted at the event,” said the announcement from Jennifer Jenich-Laplander.
The cost is $2 per person for three hours.
“We all must come together during times like this and the past 12 hours have been a true testimate of how our community comes together to help those in need,” said Jenich-Laplander.
