GLADSTONE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Oaks Caddyshack Club in Gladstone held a Law Enforcement Appreciation Day on Sunday, May 2.

Officers of the Delta County Sheriff’s Department, Delta County Jail, Escanaba Public Safety, Gladstone Public Safety, and Michigan State Police received free Greens fees for the day.

Family members who joined their officer received half off on their Greens fees.

The OC Club said they wanted to show their appreciation for the dedication and work local law enforcement do.

“Up here in Delta County, our officers are different than most big city officers because in big cities, the officers don’t patrol the areas they live in, but up here, Delta County and Escanaba Public Safety are our neighbors. Even though police have been getting a pretty bad wrap in the media lately, we just wanted to show them that we understand that our officers are a little bit different,” Golf Manager Rayno Tulppo said.

If you missed Sunday’s event, the golf club is looking to hold more in the future.
