Boss Snowplow expands Iron Mountain manufacturing facility
The 44,000 square foot building will allow the company to consolidate manufacturing processes into one area.
IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WLUC) -Boss Snowplow’s manufacturing facility in Iron Mountain, has grown by 44,000 square feet.
Mark Klossner, Boss’ vice president of marketing, says the new building is in response to the business’ growing industry.
“We’re getting into new categories of products and we see that continuing,” he said.
He says the addition, which already has some fixtures and racking inside, allows Boss to consolidate its manufacturing processes into one area and also add a new paint line.
“It’s going to allow us to do somethings more efficiently, but it’s going to give us more space,” explained Klossner.
This expansion began in August, with Gundlach Champion leading the construction.
Stan Kaczmarek, Gundlach Champion’s president, said the completion was earlier than expected, due to a light winter and even despite the pandemic.
“We kept everything on schedule, under budget,” he said.
And Gundlach Champion’s location made it even easier to get the job done.
“Our office is right across the street, it was special to be a part of this project,” said Kaczmarek.
This expansion has opened the door for new jobs; Boss is currently hiring.
“Different kinds of jobs, productions jobs, profession jobs, all of those, so it’s exciting,” said Klossner.
Klossner says within the next two months the new building will see a lot of action, as Toro Corporation, Boss’ parent company expects to continue expanding in the Dickinson Area.
