Quiet transition into 2021 in the City of Marquette
MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - According to the Marquette City Police Department, New Year’s Eve looked just like any normal day.
There were only a few fireworks complaints after 1 a.m. on the holiday.
The community also reportedly abided by social distancing guidelines and avoided large gatherings.
Corporal John Rink said overall everything went smoothly going into the new year but there is one thing to keep in mind going forward.
“We have still parking restrictions at night,” Rink said. “So stay off the road if you can to let DPW be able to work when they can to move the snow banks back and to plow when we get snow.”
Street parking is restricted from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. until further notice. Violators will be fined.
