HARVEY, Mich. (WLUC) - One way to start off 2021 is receiving an acknowledgement from the Michigan’s most powerful people.

Dr. Tim Hunt and his colleagues at Bayshore Veterinary Hospital in Harvey, was gifted a special tribute from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist, State Senator Ed McBroom and State Representative Sara Cambensy.

There were two letters. One addressed to Dr. Hunt himself and the other to the whole Bayshore staff.

“An unsung hero for those with beloved pets and workhorses, the Bayshore Veterinary Hospital provides the kind of service many similar communities would be lucky to enjoy,” the letter to Bayshore said.

Doctor Hunt said the tribute is motivation going into the new year.

“It reaffirms that what we are doing is the right thing,” Dr. Hunt said. “What we’ve been doing for 27 years and what we have tried to achieve with taking care of people’s pets has been on the right path and we want to continue them and gives me a good kick in the pants to continue on.”

The letter addressed to Dr. Hunt highlighted his hard work running multiple businesses while still being a philanthropist for the Marquette community and beyond.
