It's going to be a hot one in the UP Sunday. The record high for June 10 was set in 2002 at 90 degrees. It's definitely possible that we could break that.
Highs will be around 90 degrees Sunday thanks to abundant sunshine and a strong south wind. Wind speeds will be around 10 to 20 mph and gusts could approach 30 in the afternoon. That wind will keep it a bit less warm east near Lake Michigan, but highs should still reach the 70s.
"Mild" doesn't do Sunday night justice. It will be downright warm with lows in the mid and upper 60s. Some isolated spots in the central UP may not even get below 70 (which is the average high for Sunday). A weak cold front will be entering the area after midnight in the far west. It will bring some rain and thunderstorms that will move across the area overnight.
Monday will be warm, but less so than Sunday. Highs will be around 80 degrees. Rain and some thundershowers will be following the front over the course of the afternoon and evening.
Behind the front skies will start to clear up. Lows will be cooler Monday night in the mid to upper 40s and winds will shift to a more westerly flow.
Tuesday will be less warm with highs around 60, but skies will be mostly clear as high pressure starts to move in. The middle of the week will see plenty of sunshine and calm conditions. Temperatures will be warmer toward next weekend.
I've enjoyed seeing all of the pictures that have flooded onto our TV6 Facebook page and our website. Thank you! I've posted quite a few myself that are on my Facebook page. I've turned one into this week's cover photo. Check it out!
