Well, there's finally rain in the forecast and quite a bit of it. Sunday, however, is likely to remain sunny and nice with only a few thinner clouds. Highs will be seasonal in the mid 50s mostly, but around 60 in the western interior.

Winds will start to pick up a bit to around 5-15 mph as high pressure directly over us moves away to our east. In addition to dry air and warmer conditions, there is currently a mild risk for fires, but no Red Flag warnings issued as of this morning. See what the National Weather Service has to say.

Sunday night will remain mild as light south winds take over. Lows will only fall into the mid and upper 30s. Everywhere in the U.P. should remain above freezing. The real note of interest is the incoming low pressure from the south. It's center should remain well to our south, but we should receive rain moving in the from the south and west late tonight. Clouds will move in as early as the evening.

Monday looks like it will be a bit less rainy than originally expected as the low pressure stays a bit too far south, but rain will be falling most of the morning and afternoon, clearing away throughout the evening. Monday's highs will be a bit warmer than Sunday, but still mainly in the 50s. Winds will be light out of the south keeping it cooler near Lake Michigan.

Monday night will only cool down to around 40. Skies will clear up a bit should remain mostly cloudy. Winds will again be light out of the south.

There are several chances of rain throughout the extended forecast, especially Wednesday, which looks like it might even offer some thundershowers as of right now. My favorite part is that we're likely to reach 60s by Tuesday and even around 70 by Wednesday. It's been over two weeks since we've had an official high of 60 or higher (it was April 14 with a high of 72). Things might be a bit less warm for next weekend.

I'll post more weather info on my Facebook page. I've also been posting more weather pictures that I've taken over the years. Tell me what you think! I'm trying to add at least one a week.

On a note of interest, the Marquette National Weather Service is upgrading their current radar to Dual-Polarization Radar which will be an immense upgrade for seeing precipitation in the U.P., but it also means that there will be no radar available for two weeks starting tomorrow. Learn more about it here.
