A 20-year-old man from Wilson will spend two years in federal prison for the possession of a stolen firearm.

Marco Antonio Arteaga was sentenced Friday by the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan.

He stole firearms from a residence on the Hannahville reservation. The investigation into Arteaga's activities came from an unrelated assault where a 12-year-old child had a gun pointed at his head.

Officials say the gun used in that incident, along with other guns, were the same ones stolen from the Hannahville reservation.

He pled guilty to his charge last October.

Arteaga will also will also serve three years of supervised release following his release from prison.
