Former Houghton Police Chief Raffaelli dies

HOUGHTON -- Houghton City Police officials have confirmed former Police Chief Ralph Raffaelli has passed away. Raffaelli passed away Wednesday night.

He served as the Houghton City Chief of Police from 1986 through 2007. Known for his love of the Copper Country, Raffaelli enjoyed collecting historical artifacts from the area.

A display of pictures is set up in the City of Houghton building to honor the late chief. The Houghton City Police said they are saddened over Raffaelli's sudden passing.

Funeral arrangements have been made for Tuesday, March 12 at the St. Ignatius Loyola Church in Houghton.
