MARQUETTE -- One of the strongest winter storms of the season hammered Upper Michigan, and it's still snowing and blowing in some parts of the U.P. as of Tuesday night. The storm dumped more than two feet of snow in some places, but the real problem was the wind. Blowing snow led to white-out conditions and huge snow drifts.

M-28 between Harvey and Munising remains was closed through, at least, Tuesday night. Police are advising people to stay off the roads if possible.

"This is the worst I've seen it this winter. There's plenty of snow. It's best to have four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Just slow down, basically be aware of your surroundings," said Marquette resident, Brian Dietsch.

Marquette county road crews continue to work to keep the roads as clear as possible. The storm is expected to continue through Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning through many parts of the U.P.
