CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP -- An accident on Saturday morning sent a female pedestrian to the hospital.

The accident happened at 9 a.m. in Chocolay Township on Lakewood Lane near Hiawatha Street.

The Marquette County Sheriff's Office says a Ford pickup truck driven by a 25-year-old Harvey man was unable to avoid a female pedestrian as she crossed the road to retrieve the newspaper.

Police say the pedestrian was a minor and received minor injuries to one of her legs.

She was transported to Marquette General Hospital.
