HOUGHTON -- A winning Mega Millions ticket worth $19 million was sold at Festival Foods in Houghton. The winning numbers are 02 - 05 - 10 - 26 - 44 with a mega ball of 46.
On Wednesday morning, an assistant manager at the store confirmed they sold the ticket. The information is also on www.MichiganLottery.com.
"We had a lady call here this morning with a lot of excitement in her voice," said Maria Campioni-Vertin of Festival Foods. "She called one of our employees wondering how she should claim her $19 million winning lottery ticket. Our employee passed it on to the manager, and the manager told her how to get ahold of the lottery officials. Congratulations to them. We're glad they bought it from a local business like us and how exciting."
The lucky winner will have to travel to Lansing to the Michigan Lottery headquarters to confirm the winning ticket and claim the money.
The Mega Millions jackpot is now at $12 million with the next drawing being held on Friday, February 8.
