MUNISING -- It's the day every kid hopes for...unexpected school cancellations.

“I looked on my iPod and kids are like ‘schools out.’ I was so happy that I got to sleep in,” said 13-year-old Jillian Schramm.

While many may struggle to find something to fill the time, children in Munising headed to Mitchy's Movies for a friendly session of laser tag. Kids pay $3 for a 10-minute laser tag session and then are geared up and ready to go.

"My friends are like, ‘Hey Taylor, come play laser tag,’ and I’m like, oh sure,” said Taylor Kahlstorf.

Taylor says it's a fun way for her and her friends to get out of the house and feels “there's nothing really to do in Munising.”

Owner Vincent Ouelette thinks it's a unique option for kids that have the day off and doesn't know why more people don't join in on the fun.

“Laser tag is a fun contact sport,” explained Ouelette. “It’s very energetic…a lot of jumping around and leaping around.”
