SANDS TOWNSHIP -- An early morning rollover accident sent one woman to the hospital.

The Marquette County Sheriff's Office says 34-year-old Cora Longtine from Negaunee was travelling westbound on County Road 480, east of Seney Road, around 12:50 a.m. when she lost control of her SUV and landed upside down in a creek.

Other motorists tried to remove Longtine from the vehicle, but were unsuccessful. Once officers arrived, they entered the water and freed Longtine from the passenger side of the submerged vehicle.

The crash is still under investigation, and officials say it is still unknown if alcohol was a factor in the accident.

Longtine was treated and released from Marquette General Hospital.
