ISHPEMING -- The Ishpeming Hematite football team wants to thank everyone for their generous donations.
Thanks to the outpouring from the community and beyond, they have reached their funding goal so the entire team can go to New York City next week. The trip ties in with the recent win for the entry in the Sports Illustrated Underdogs grant competition.
On Monday, the team will leave at noon and arrive in the Big Apple the next morning. The team will then tour the Sports Illustrated Center.
Later that night, 10 members of the team will be part of the Sportsmen of the Year ceremony, while the rest of the team enjoys the sights of Times Square.
