ESCANABA -- An appeals court has upheld the conviction of a Delta County man on second degree criminal sexual conduct.

In December of last year, Bruno Joseph Perino of Powers was sentenced to nine months in the county jail and five years probation and has to register as a sex offender.

A jury found the 62-year-old bus driver guilty of abusing a then 10-year-old girl.

Perino appealed the conviction, stating there was insufficient evidence.  But the Michigan Court of Appeals let the conviction and sentence stand.
