MARQUETTE -- Christina Kay Denessen, accused of embezzling from Forsyth Township, pled guilty in Marquette County Circuit Court on Friday.

The 43 year-old pled guilty Friday morning to a felony of embezzling between $1,000 and $20,000. The investigation revealed the money was taken late last year and was used for gambling.

She faces up to five years in prison, but could avoid time behind bars as part of a plea deal. Denessen will have to pay back the money she stole from the township and possibly further fines.

She is free on bond and will be sentenced on November 2.
