ESCANABA -- Well over 300 cars registered for the annual Fun Ride Parade and Car Show in Escanaba.

The Krusin Klassics is a non-profit organization, and their annual event draws car enthusiasts from Michigan, surrounding states, and even Canada.

The parade started down Ludington Street. Several thousand spectators enjoyed the evening of food, fun, and cars.

“That's the way of a lot of families and children,” says Bill Gray, Krusin Klassics past president and volunteer. “Parents bring the children and talk about their first car."

Miles Anderson is a big car fan of the old classics.

“It's a guy thing,” explains Anderson. “It's like riding a Harley...you want to be able to hear the noise and hear the rumble and see the smoke."

The Fun Run was also a fun ride for the younger crowd.

“Yeah, I think we'll have a lot of fun just because we're all here together,” says participant Dacota Lambert. “We're just here to enjoy the parade."

The five dollar tickets will get you in all day Saturday to enjoy the activities at the U.P. State Fairgrounds.

“We have the car show that goes on all day,” explains Kruisin Klassics member and volunteer, Sharon Gray. “We have a dyno, which measures horsepower and the torque of a car."

The gates open Saturday at 7 a.m. Children 12 and under get in free.

The event also raises a lot of money to give back to local charities. Some of their major donations include scholarships to Bay College and money for the U.P. Honor Flight and the Salvation Army.
