MARQUETTE -- A Forsyth Township family will be able to continue farming on their land near Johnson Lake near Gwinn.

Marquette County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Solka has ruled that the Shady Grove Farm U.P. LLC owned by Randy and Libby Buchler is protected from Forsyth Township Zoning laws by the Rights to Farm Act as the farm complies with the act.

The Buchlers were in a two-day trial in November when Judge Solka heard from both the Forsyth Township's and Shady Grove Farms' representation.

According to Solka's decision, there can be action taken against the Buchlers' farming operation if the operation of the farm changes.
