DeVos Art Museum, Marquette, MI

The 2017 exhibition highlights the work of five artists who spent 2—4 weeks on the island between June and September 2016. This is the first year the artists have had nearly a full year to reflect and create work based on their experiences on the island. This year’s exhibition features visual artists Luce Choules (UK), Walter van Broekhuizen (NL) and the collaborative U.S.-based group of Jack Forinash, Kelly Gregory and Mary Rothlisberger. A full color, fully illustrated catalogue will be available, also featuring work by 2016 resident and writer, F. Daniel Rzicznek. The catalogue was designed by Edwin Robert Carter.

Are you a fan of estate sales and auctions? Drop by the Peter White Public Library to take advantage of our Library Treasure Sale and Silent Auction taking place this September.

The Peter White Public Library has been cleaning closets, and we will be offering items for sale. These are items which have been collecting dust in our closets, under desks and hidden away in various other nooks and crannies. If you like a good treasure hunt, you’ll want to be sure you visit the library!

Treasure Sale
The Library Treasure Sale will take place in the Business Reference Room on the upper floor of the library. This sale will be held Thursday, September 7 from 10am – 5pm; Friday, September 8 from 10am – 6pm; and Saturday, September 9 from 10am – 1pm. Don’t let the dust bunnies fool you. There are many collectibles included in this sale: china sets, a 24-carat gold-plated kazoo, statues, vases, and more!

Silent Auction
Through the month of September, the Peter White Public Library will display art, furniture, and other objects which will be sold as part of a fundraising silent auction.
