Great day of fun for kids with lots of GREAT outdoor events and AWESOME free door prizes. Events include: Fishing Pond, Archery shooting, 22 Rifle Shooting, Shotgun Shooting, Trapping Display, ORV program, and DNR. All equipment is provided. Kids must be accompanied by an Adult. FREE ADMISSION and Lunch Provided at No Charge for Kids and Their Parents.

Come to Land O Lakes Saturday, September 23 for fall family fun. A horse drawn hay ride will be provided as a shuttle to all town events. Participate in our Leaf Walk tour to local businesses, vote on your favorite fall decorations, go bowling and do kids crafts at the library downtown. Fall themed food and beverages throughout town. The fun continues with:
Art and Quilt Show, Community Garden tour and bonfire at the VFW grounds
Radar Run at the airport: cars, trucks and motorcycles!
Pie Baking Contest, games a corn roast and brat fry
Finding Donaldson’s exhibit at the Northwoods Museum

8th Annual outreach ministry to provide winter clothing to needy area youth.

Schedule:
Tuesday September 19, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Assemble bags and labels at Wesley.

Saturday September 23, 10:00 a.m. – Noon (Start at Wesley)
Distribute KKW bags/donation instructions throughout neighborhoods. Lunch follows.

Saturday September 30, 10:00 a.m. – Noon (Start at Wesley)
Collect winter clothing donations throughout the neighborhoods. Snacks follow.

Thursday October 5, 5:00 – 8:30 p.m.
Set up tables and organized winter clothing at the Ishpeming Armory.

Saturday, October 7, 9:00 a.m. – noon.
Help with free shopping day and take down following at the Ishpeming Armory.

October 8 through November 3, Shopping for clothing items not available at the Armory day.

Saturday, November 4, 9:00 a.m. – Noon (At Wesley)
Pick up day for winter clothing not available at the Armory day.

Are you a fan of estate sales and auctions? Drop by the Peter White Public Library to take advantage of our Library Treasure Sale and Silent Auction taking place this September.

The Peter White Public Library has been cleaning closets, and we will be offering items for sale. These are items which have been collecting dust in our closets, under desks and hidden away in various other nooks and crannies. If you like a good treasure hunt, you’ll want to be sure you visit the library!

Treasure Sale
The Library Treasure Sale will take place in the Business Reference Room on the upper floor of the library. This sale will be held Thursday, September 7 from 10am – 5pm; Friday, September 8 from 10am – 6pm; and Saturday, September 9 from 10am – 1pm. Don’t let the dust bunnies fool you. There are many collectibles included in this sale: china sets, a 24-carat gold-plated kazoo, statues, vases, and more!

Silent Auction
Through the month of September, the Peter White Public Library will display art, furniture, and other objects which will be sold as part of a fundraising silent auction. Visit the Huron Mountain Club Gallery on the main floor of the library to view this exhibit. Items will be available for bid September 1st - September 29th.

The Marquette Regional History Center

The Marquette Regional History Center Special Exhibit space hosts:
Great Girls in Michigan History
September 20—October 18
This exhibit will be celebrating nine girls from across Michigan including a wrestler, an activist and a soldier who did great things before they turned twenty. Upper Peninsula girls Nancy Harkness Love, Copper Country aviator during World War II, and Jane Johnston Schoolcraft, Ojibwe creative writer and translator, are featured. This traveling exhibit was created by the Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame. Sponsored by Zonta Club of Marquette. Carrie Jacobs-Bond Quilt Show

This event is a fundraiser for the quilters to continue giving comfort to those in need. There will be over 100 quilts, vendors, refreshments,demonstrations, Ellie's Closet, and more.
