NEGAUNEE TWP. -- Changes are taking place regarding television coverage of Green Bay Packers' and Detroit Lions' football games in the Upper Peninsula.

An alteration in the line-up of a number of cable companies, including Charter Communications, is the reason for the switch.

TV6 and FOX UP have been designated by the Green Bay Packers as the Official Packers' stations in Upper Michigan.

UP viewers will soon notice a Green Bay station that's covered the Packers in the past (WLUK) will not be available here, and that has led TV6 and FOX UP management to make what turns out to be a very easy business decision for most viewers.

When the Packers and Lions play at the same time on FOX, the Packers game will be covered on FOX UP.  That will be the first priority.

In addition to the regular season games on FOX UP, TV6 will be carrying three Packers' pre-season games on Thursdays in August, the 16th, 23rd and 30th.

FOX UP and TV6 will also carry the half hour Packers' programs "Inside Lambeau" and "The Mike McCarthy Show" each weekend beginning August 19th.

TV6 and FOX UP still will broadcast a total of at least nine Detroit Lions games this season.
