MANISTIQUE -- Marquette High School's Avery Rochester defeated Escanaba native Polly Anderson 4 and 3 to win the Upper Peninsula Ladies Golf Association champion at Indian Lake Golf Course in Manistique.

Rochester will be a junior at MSHS this fall.  She eliminated Ontonagon's Cathy Shamion 6 and 5 in one semifinal this morning

Anderson edged JoAnn Poncino of Pine Grove in Iron Mountain 2 and 1 in the other semifinal.
