SUNDANCE DOCUMENTARY ON ADAPTIVE SKIING TO PREMIERE AT US SKI AND SNOWBOARD HALL OF FAME

Chicago-based Adaptive Adventures featured in film highlighting success of adaptive sports in patient rehabilitation.

March 20th, 2012-- Adaptive Adventures, a Chicago-based nonprofit, providing distinctive outdoor adventures to people with physical disabilities, will host the Upper Michigan premiere of The Movement, narrated by Robert Redford and ski legend Warren Miller.

 The event will take place on Friday April 6th at the US Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame in Ishpeming, MI. Movie to be shown at 7pm. Doors open at 6:15pm. Ticket will be available for purchase at the door, cost is $5.

The film screened at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2012 to critical acclaim.

Produced and directed by Kurt Miller, The Movement profiles five disabled athletes who regain a sense of freedom and newfound confidence through skiing. The 41-minute film also features Chicago based, Adaptive Adventures, which has provided life-changing outdoor sporting opportunities to more than 6500 physically disabled individuals since 1999.

The public will have the opportunity to meet US Paralympic Team hopeful, Kelly Allen. Kelly will be hosting a discussion after the movie to talk about how Adaptive Sports, in particular skiing, have played an important role in her life.
