MTU Football Player earns national academic honors

It's been a big week for a Michigan Tech football player.

Huskies Defensive Lineman Jacob Clark is one of 12 winners of the GLIAC Commissioner's Award for the fall semester.

Clark started 10 games for a Michigan Tech defense that led the GLIAC in total defense and scoring defense.

The junior defensive tackle recorded 42 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks on the season, helping the Huskies to a 7-4 record.

In the classroom, Clark owns a 3.96 grade point average in civil engineering.

Today Clark was named to the Capital One/CcSIDA Academic All-American First Team for Division II.
