BARK RIVER -- You can't spell Beauchamp without the word champ. Drivers in the Super Stock Truck series are starting to figure this out the hard way.

Bark River's Scott Beauchamp has been on a roll winning the last four rounds of series the including Saturday's tilt.

Scott went for number five Sunday, and if he was going to do it, he'd have to work for the win.

The number 820 truck started towards the rear of the pack and hadn't gained much ground by the mid-race caution lap.

"It's hard to move through all that traffic with so much mud," said the Super Stock points leader.  "I think I went through 20 tear-offs just trying to get my way to the front, so it took a little while."

By the end of the race, cousin and Escanaba native Danny Beauchamp and Al Konitzer of Oconto Falls, WI were running out front.

With Scott third, Danny Beauchamp and Konitzer collided, bringing out a caution and sending the elder Beauchamp into the winner's circle, but not without some controversy.

"There was a bit of contact on the last lap, but at the end of the day, whoever crossed the finish line first gets the win," Beauchamp said.  "We maintained that position, so we'll take the two wins for this weekend."

Beauchamp is well ahead of everyone in the points standings thanks to those five wins.  He dedicated the win Sunday to 16-year-old Devin Degrave of Bark River who was killed in a car accident in Wells Township last May on his way to baseball practice.  The Degrave family was in attendance Sunday.
