Report: Five teams leaving the WCHA starting in 2013-2014

Colorado College, Denver, North Dakota, Minn.-Duluth and Neb.-Omaha are leaving
Many college hockey fans already know the Big Ten will have its own hockey conference in the 2013-14 season.
Now reports from Duluth, Grand Forks and Omaha newspapers, plus US College Hockey Online confirm five schools will leave their current hockey conferences and also will form a new league for the 2013-14 campaign.
Those schools Colorado College, Denver, North Dakota, Minnesota-Duluth and Nebraska-Omaha from the WCHA.
Notre Dame, Miami of Ohio and Western Michigan also could be part of this new, unnamed conference. Notre Dame has also been contacted about joining Hockey East
The announcement is expected next Wednesday in Colorado Springs.
It isn't known what effect this could have on Michigan Tech, NMU and Lake Superior State.
