LPGA Futures Tour tickets to Support Bay Scholarship Fund

ESCANABA -- The Island Resort & Casino will host an LPGA Futures Tour event, “Island Resort Championship at Sweetgrass” from June 20 – 26, 2011 at Sweetgrass. The Futures Tour showcases some of the top young women golfers in the world who are seeking LPGA status.

This will be an exciting opportunity for the Upper Peninsula, as this will be the only professional golf tour event in Michigan or Wisconsin in 2011.

In a truly generous spirit, the Island Resort and Casino is offering the opportunity to community schools and non-profit organizations to sell tickets for the event with 100 percent of the proceeds going towards the organization.

The Bay College Foundation is taking advantage of this charitable offer and will be selling tickets for this exciting event. All money raised will support Bay’s emergency scholarship fund which helps to eliminate barriers to student success at Bay College.

Student needs are great; the emergency scholarship fund helps numerous students every year in ways ranging from buying a book for class to paying for a class not covered by financial aid. Your support makes a huge difference to Bay students!

Tickets are $10 for a 3-day tournament pass (children under 18 are free when accompanied by an adult). Each ticket will be numbered and will serve as both entrance into the tournament and as a raffle ticket throughout the day.

Prizes such as $2,000 worth of golf equipment will be raffled each day.

The ticket will also serve as a day pass for the YMCA of Delta County. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Foundation Office located in Room 201 of the Catherine Bonifas Building at Bay College’s Escanaba campus.
