Wolverines come back from 2-0 hole against Mavericks
ST. LOUIS, MO -- Kevin Lynch scored at 2:35 of overtime and a video review that lasted nearly 10 minutes upheld the goal, giving Michigan a 3-2 victory over Nebraska-Omaha in the West Regional semifinals on Friday night.
The replay was never shown on the video boards at the Scottrade Center. Players loitered near their benches awaiting a decision.
It wasn't clear why it took officials so long to make a call on the play. Apparently, Lynch nudged a rebound past goalie John Faulkner after Greg Pateryn's shot from the point.
Lynch scored twice and Louie Caporusso had a goal and an assist for Michigan (27-10-4), playing in its 21st consecutive NCAA tournament coach Red Berenson.
Rich Purslow and Alex Hudson scored for Nebraska-Omaha (21-16-2), which lost five of six to end its season.
