Finlandia adds eight to women's hockey team

Finlandia University Women’s Ice Hockey coach Heather Reinke has announced that eight student-athletes have committed to the 2010-2011 women’s hockey program.

The talented 8 player class joins 10 returning skaters in preparation for a challenging 25 game schedule including 20 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) conference games.

Finlandia will open the 2010-2011 campaign at home against Concordia-Moorhead on October 29-30, 2010 at the Houghton County Arena.

Listed below are the eight student-athletes that will attend Finlandia and play hockey this year.  A short player profile of each recruit is listed below.

 

Cassie Behl                               F             5’0”        Wadena, Minnesota.

  1. Played for Long Prairie-Grey Eagle HS
  2. “A hard worker with good quickness and leadership abilities,” according to coach Reinke.

 

Courtney Fallon                     F             5’9”        Dollar Bay, Michigan

  1. Played  locally for the K-WINGS
  2. “A determined player that’s always looking to improve,” according to coach Reinke.

 

Siera Hache                              F             5’7”        Winnipeg, Manitoba

  1. Played for Athol Murray College of Notre Dame
  1. “Has good size and a passion for the game,” according to coach Reinke.

 

My Lindskog                           F             5’7”        Trelleborg, Sweden

  1. Played for Malmo IF
  2. “A great skater with good mobility,” according to coach Reinke.

 

Molly Mandoli                        G            5’6”        Appleton, Wisconsin

  1. Played for Appleton United
  2. 2009-2010 stats: 1.94 GAA
  3. “Comes from a hockey family and her father was goalie at Calumet HS,” according to coach Reinke.

 

Taryn Moffat                          F             5’6”        Montrose, British Columbia

  1. Played for New England College the past 2 seasons (transfer)
  2. Career stats at NEC: 2G-10A-12PTS
  3. “Brings collegiate experience and a passion for the game to the program,” according to coach Reinke.

 

Danielle Shingleton                F             5’4”        Belgrade, Montana

  1. Played for the U-19 AAA VOSHA
  2. “Possess’ solid skills,” according to coach Reinke.

 

Robin Stockwell                     F             5’6”`      Chelsea, Michigan

  1. Played for Victory Honda U-19 AAA
  2. “A hard worker with good stick skills,” according to coach Reinke.
