MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Timberwolves likely won't have any All-Stars again this season, but Jonny Flynn and Kevin Love will participate in the weekend festivities next month.
Flynn will play guard for the rookie team, and Love will play forward against him for the sophomore team in the annual challenge between first and second-year players. It will be held on Friday, Feb. 12 in Dallas. The All-Star game is on Sunday, Feb. 14.
Flynn has struggled to learn coach Kurt Rambis's offense, but the sixth overall draft pick is third among NBA rookies with 14.2 points per game.
Despite missing 20 games this season, Love is currently 14th in the league with 116 offensive rebounds. The fifth overall draft pick from 2008 is averaging 14.8 points and 11.9 rebounds per game.
