NMU Soccer Defeated in GLIAC Opener

The Northern Michigan University soccer team was shutout in its first-ever meeting with Notre Dame College in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener for both schools on Friday (Sept. 14). The Falcons defeated the Wildcats 2-0 with two second half goals.

NMU is now 1-4 overall and 0-1 in the GLIAC. NDC is 2-3 and 1-0 in the GLIAC.

Northern was outshot by one (16-15) but managed to get more shots on NDC goalkeeper Christy Kolschetzky who stopped all seven shots. Redshirt
freshman Shelby Conard had four saves for the ‘Cats.

Lauren Acker scored both goals. Her first goal was 12 minutes into the second half and her second was 13 minutes later. Both tallies were
unassisted.

The ‘Cats wrap-up their five-game road trip at Lake Erie College on Sunday at noon. Michigan Tech defeated the Storm 2-1 in overtime on Friday.
