Rockne Belmonte of the Northern Michigan Football team was recently named a Second Team Special Teams All-American by the Beyond Sports Network.

The junior kicker from Grand Rapids, Mich. finished the 2011 season completing 15-of-19 field goals, setting a new NMU record for most field goals in a season. He was also 29-of-31 in point-after-touchdown kicks, finishing the season with 74 points.

Belmonte has lettered three times as a Wildcat and was an all-GLIAC academic selection in 2011.

The list of All-American features student-athletes from the Football Championship series along with NCAA Divisions II and III and the NAIA.

Student-athletes are selected based on their BSN College Network profile, statistics, awards and evaluation of film.
