For the first time this season, a Northern Michigan volleyball player has been named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference North Division "Player of the Week." Left-side hitter Emma Wolfe (Madison Wis.) was honored after leading the ‘Cats to two wins last week.
Wolfe, a senior, led the ‘Cats to a 2-0 record last week with wins over Finlandia (3-0) and Michigan Tech (3-0).
Wolfe accumulated 24 kills and averaged 4.00 kills/set last week. She had a .446 hitting percentage with 42 attempts. Wolfe currently ranks first in the GLIAC for average kills per set with 3.96 and sixth in points per set with 4.03.
The 8-5 (6-2, GLIAC) ‘Cats host three matches this week at Vandament Arena.
They dropped a 3-0 decision Tuesday night to fourth ranked Minnesota-Duluth (25-15, 25-12, 25-16).
