ESCANABA -- Escanaba High School Baseball Coach Don Lauscher has resigned after five seasons.

Lauscher leaves with a record of 130 wins and 27 losses, the winningest coach in the program's modern history.

The Eskymos won three district championships and a regional championship in 2007 under his leadership.

According to RRNsports.com, Lauscher says he is resigning "due to administrative differences that compromise his coaching philosophies."  He did not elaborate on what those differences are, and added that he will "miss the kids a lot."

Escanaba Athletic Director Dave Wilson says he's shocked by Lauscher's decision, adding Lauscher was not asked to resign.

Wilson says there will be an internal and external posting for the job.
