BARK RIVER -- Stephenson native Matt Ives went for a second straight victory in the Stock Truck race on Sunday at the TRAXXAS Off Road Races at the Bark River International Raceway.

Ives took over the point lead with Saturday's win and looked to pad that new found lead with another "W" Sunday.

The 23 year old and Iron River's Nick Baumgartner were dueling most of the race before more technical issues with the truck caused the X-Games gold medalist to back off.

"We had a good battle today (8/14) with Baumgartner," said Ives. "We're running with him for points and something happened to him both days and to sweep the weekend when he has problems is not what you want, but yet it's awesome for the points. We'll go into Crandon with a good battle. When you get a good opportunity to have a good weekend like we did, we have to take advantage of it and do the best we can."

Baumgartner finished fifth. Ives hopes to someday move up to the professional ranks, but he wants to win a Stock Truck points title first.

Wilson's Brad Erickson won the 1600 buggy race to extend his points lead.
