Two Negaunee residents have returned with a number of trophies from the Michigan Trapshooting State Shoot in Mason.

Seventeen-year old Ely Goupille captured a pair of titles.  He won the Dwight Cowan Handicap Junior Division in a shoot-off.

Goupille connected on 88 out of 100 targets from 20 yards, then nailed 23 of 25 in the shoot-off to win that crown, plus he took the Hi Overall Class C State Title.

Meanwhile William Grill, Jr. was the Class A champion in Doubles, hitting 97 targets, plus he was the Hi Overall champion in Class A.

Grill was the runner-up in his division of the Dwight Cowan Handicap, connecting on 91 out of 100 targets.  Grill also was the runner-up in the Class A singles, the preliminary high overall championship, hitting 650 out of 700 targets, two short of the winner's total.
