The Michigan Tech women's basketball team moved up one spot to No. 7 in this week's USA TODAY/ESPN Division II Coaches Poll. The Huskies, who have won eight straight games, were ranked No. 8 for each of the last three weeks.

Tech won both of its games last week. It defeated Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference South Division leader Ashland, 68-50, Thursday (Feb. 17) before beating Lake Erie, 89-49, Saturday (Feb. 19).  The Huskies improved to 21-2 and secured their fourth straight GLIAC North Division title during the week.

Three NCAA Midwest Region teams are ranked in the top 25.  Fellow GLIAC member Grand Valley State is No. 21 and Great Lakes Valley Conference leader Quincy is No. 13.

The USA TODAY/ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll is selected weekly by members of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.  Tech has been ranked in every national poll since Jan. 22, 2008, including eight straight weeks in the top 10.
