Needed overtime to do it
ESCANABA -- Escanaba hosted the Pee Wee B Michigan State Hockey Championships, with the Escanaba Hawks against the Keweenaw Cougars for the title.
In the first period, Mike Anderson for Keweenaw to Issac Eckdahl for the goal; 1-0 Cougars. A few minutes later Seah Lake on the break away and the nasty wrister gets in the net; 2-0 Cougars six minutes into the game.
The Hawks came back though as a loose puck along the boards bounces to Jack Williams and he whips it in; 2-1 Cougars after one period.
Riley Stenfors tied things in the third period for the Hawks and the game moved to overtime where Stenfors threw a bouncer at the net and it goes in.
Escanaba wins 3-2 on a wild goal in overtime to win the State Pee Wee B title.
