BARK RIVER -- You'll need to write down a different weekend on your calendar for this year's Off Road Races in Bark River. The event is moving from August to mid-June.
According to Bark River Lions Club Marketing Director Roger Charbonneau, three weekends were offered for the TRAXXAS/TORC Series races. The best weekend for the Lions Club was June 14-16, so that's when the 38th annual event will be held.
Charbonneau says the other two suggested weekends already had popular events in the area.
One was the Ladies Symetra Tour golf tournament at the Sweetgrass Course in Harris in Late June. The other was on the weekend of the Upper Peninsula State Fair in August.
This year's schedule has racing in Buchanan in the Lower Peninsula on the second weekend of August.
