The Michigan Tech women's soccer team finished the regular season with a 2-1 GLIAC win over Walsh Sunday (Oct. 28). The Huskies finish the regular season with a 13-3-1 and 11-1-1 record.

MacKenzie Jordan scored the first goal for the Huskies in the 11th minute off a header on a free kick by Janelle Riedl.

"We know MacKenzie is strong in the air," said head coach Michelle Jacob. "We try to get her involved on corner and free kicks, and it paid off for us today."

Mollie Vanover tied the game at 1-1 with her first goal of the season from the top of the penalty box in the 43rd minute.

Janelle Riedl recorded her second assist of the game after sending a pass to Lindsey Van Rooy who scored with a high shot in the 83rd minute.

Tech finished with a 14-7 advantage in shots.

Jenna Phelps made four saves in goal for the Huskies.

"Its exciting to be making our first appearance in the conference tournament," said Jacob. "We are happy to be playing at home."

Tech will host a GLIAC quarterfinal game Tuesday (Oct. 30). Game time is set for 2 p.m.
