EAST LANSING -- (Photo courtesy of Terry McNamara, Royal Oak) Climax-Scotts used a balanced scoring effort to keep a pesky Carney Nadeau team at arms length in a 52-44 win in the Class D Boys Basketball State Semifinals.

The Panthers got 12 points from both of their 6'7" juniors, Aaron Cook and Malachi Satterlee, as well as Kirk Gibson to clinch a spot in Saturday's Class D State Final. Climax shot 43 percent from the floor from the game including over 38 percent from beyond the three-point arc.

A much smaller Carney Nadeau lineup was only outrebounded by a 39-29 advantage. The Wolves were led once again by junior Wade Schetter who had 15 points.  Senior Lucas Moreau had 12 points and Sophomore Keenan Lampinen had 12 points.

Climax-Scotts cooled down the Wolves shooting holding C-N to just 25 percent from the 3-point line and just 29 percent from the floor.

The Panthers will play Southfield Christian, who defeated Muskegon Catholic Central, 78-74, in the earlier semifinal.

Carney Nadeau appeared in its first boys basketball semifinal in school history. Its regional championship and win in the State quarterfinals Tuesday (3/20) were also the firsts in school history.
