Tech's Hoyt earns another Player of the Week honor

Michigan Tech junior Sam Hoyt was named the GLIAC Women's Basketball North Division Player of the Week after averaging 22.0 points, 4.0 assists, 3.5 steals, and 3.0 rebounds in wins against Lake Superior State University and Saginaw Valley State University.

Against LSSU, Hoyt scored a career-high 29 points and tied career-highs by making seven three-point baskets and recording five steals. She followed up that performance with 15 points, six rebounds (tying another career-high), and two steals against SVSU. Hoyt shot 51.9 percent (14-27) from the field and 52.9 percent (9-17) from beyond the three-point arc.

The Huskies host Ferris State Thursday at 5:30 and Grand Valley State Saturday at one pm.
