HOUGHTON --
“I am really proud of how we played tonight,” said head coach Mel Pearson. “We gave a gutsy effort. We matched their intensity from the beginning to end. If we play like we did tonight, we are going to win a lot of games.”

Milos Gordich scored the game’s first goal on the power play for the Huskies after scoring off his own rebound at 6:29 of the first period. The goal was his fourth of the season. Jordan Baker and Patrick McCadden each assisted on the goal.

Jason Zucker scored a power-play goal for the Pioneers with 10 seconds remaining in the first period to tie the score at 1-1.

Drew Shore recorded his second assist of the game after he sent a pass from behind the net to Joey LeLeggia who beat Josh Robinson with a high wrist shot at 5:34 of the second period. Jason Zucker also earned an assist on the power-play goal.

Brett Olson knotted the game at 2-2 at 12:35 of the third period. Blake Pietila sent a pass across the face of the goal to Olson who tallied his fourth goal of the season.

The Huskies had the best scoring chance in overtime as Tanner Kero sent a shot just over the cross bar with 25 seconds remaining.

DU finished 2-for-4 on the man-advantage and Tech was 1-for-3. Tech also finished with a narrow 29-25 advantage in shots.
