Lyons Named GLIAC Soccer Player of the Week

MARQUETTE -- (Courtesy of NMU Athletics) Senior forward Chelsea Lyons (Coon Rapids, Minn.) of the Northern Michigan University soccer team has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

Lyons led NMU to an unbeaten 2-0-1 record to start the season. Lyons has scored five of NMU’s six goals this season, including a three-goal game in a 3-1 win over Minnesota Crookston. Lyons scored the game-tying goal at Minnesota-Duluth and the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Bemidji State.

The Wildcats travel to Michigan Tech on Wednesday to take on the 2-0 Huskies. Game time is set for 7 p.m. from Sherman Field.
