HOUGHTON -- The Michigan Tech volleyball team ventured out to Sherman Field for some pictures, mostly of the close-up variety. And as you can imagine, the wind played a tricky part in the proceedings.
The squad returns six players from last year that saw action in the majority of the team's 26 matches, but that doesn't mean that coach Orlando Gonzalez's lineup is set.
Work in the preseason has gone well; now it's a matter of transferring that to the regular season.
"We are going to be able to perform, I think, very well," says Tech setter Madeline Haben. "We're a scrappy team, and we're very hard workers. The girls bring a lot of positive energy to the gym, and our communication will really give us an advantage over the other teams."
The Huskies will open the season at St. Joseph's in Renssalaer, Indiana on Thursday, September 1.
They will play four additional matches in Indiana as part of the St. Joseph's Puma Invitational before making their home debut on Friday, September 9 against Ferris State.
