BARK RIVER -- Earlier this year, one of Off Road Racing's biggest names went on the 2011 Armed Forces Entertainment Pro Off-Road Champions Tour in the Middle East and Southwest Asia.
Felch native, Chad Hord, along with members of his racing team visited up to eight U.S. military sites overseas, living, eating and even shooting with soldiers at the firing range.
Over the 14 days, Hord got to visit with members of the military and says that above all things, one in particular stood out.
"One of the things I was most impressed about was just the morale, how upbeat they were and how they just blended together and just work together as a team," says the Pro 2WD driver. "I don't think I talked to a negative person while I was over there, and I was over there for almost two weeks. It was real neat."
Hord currently sits third in the Amsoil Pro 2WD points standings heading into this weekend's races at the Bark River International Raceway.
The action gets underway on Saturday afternoon. New this year will be rally car-style racing.
