MARQUETTE -- The National Football League will have a season since the players and owners have ratified a ten-year collective bargaining agreement.
Now we can talk more about the outlooks for some teams.
The Arizona Cardinals did not make the playoffs in the weak NFC West last season. Placekicker and U.P. summer resident Jay Feely says he's optimistic the team will improve.
"I'm very optimistic now that we're going to have a season that's going to start on time," says Feely. "I think we have the right people talking about the right issues together. Hopefully we can get our quarterback situation straightened out in Arizona and get back to winning like they have the last couple years. Obviously the past year was a struggle."
Feely scored 24 points last December 12 as the Cardinals drilled Denver 43-13. Feely also scored a touchdown on a fake field goal in that contest.
Arizona opens the 2011 campaign at home September 11 against the Carolina Panthers.
