ANN ARBOR (AP) -- A 15 year old, considered to be one of the top young hockey goaltenders in the United States, has died in a Michigan hospital after police say he fell out of the bed of a pickup truck last week.

The University of Michigan Health System tells AnnArbor.com that Ian Jenkins died Monday.

The Detroit Free Press reports the Ypsilanti teenager was taken off life support Friday.

Jenkins played this past season for Belle Tire and recently was drafted by the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League.  He signed with the Knights on Wednesday and was supposed to have attended the team's minicamp on Saturday.

Police say he suffered a head injury when he fell out of the bed of a pickup truck and onto the pavement in Milan on Thursday.
